This ace clubs pack
High Resolution JPEG Picture of This is the Ace of Clubs from a pack of cards produced by Charles Goodall in 1897 to celebrate Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 60 years as Queen of Britain and its overseas dominions. The court cards (picture cards) display former monarchs of Britain, along with their names and dates, and this pack was issued without a joker. The four aces offer a potted history of England's royal succession and coats of arms. The Ace of Clubs displays the English coat of arms as it appeared from 1340 to 1405, as used by Edward III, Richard II and Henry IV. On the coat of arms, the fleurs-de-lys of France appear at top left and bottom right; while the three lions for England appear at top right and bottom left. The crown that is displayed relates to that time. There is a link below to the portrait of Queen Victoria that appears on the reverse of each card.
