San estevan rey mission
High Resolution JPEG Picture of San Estevan del Rey Mission Church, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1629 by Franciscans to control and acculturate the people at the Acoma Pueblo. This ancient Acoma village is located at the top of a mesa, over 360 feet above the ground and is one of the oldest continuously occupied places in the United States.
