High Resolution JPEG Picture of Sorriso is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Mato Grosso, in the country's Central-West region. It is the result of a private colonization project that brought migrants from the southern region of Brazil to populate the area. It is recognized as the National Capital of Agribusiness. Its economy is based on agribusiness, and it is the largest producer of soybeans and corn in the country. It is one of the municipalities in the so-called Amazon agricultural frontier, also known as the arc of deforestation, due to the intense predatory activity to expand arable areas.
