It is a small bird, about 10 centimeters long, with predominantly yellow plumage, some black spots on the wings and a black mask around the eyes. It is found throughout Latin America, including Brazil, and inhabits forest, savannah, cerrado and even urban areas. It is known for its ability to extract nectar from flowers using its long, thin, curved tongue.
