The letter 'B' stands for 'Bube', a rogue or knave, although in this case the figure is more in the nature of a nobleman. The Queen bears the letter D for Dame, while the King has a K for Konig. This particular deck comprises 32 cards for the game of Piquet, made up of the seven through King plus Ace of each suit. Piquet was one of the most popular card games of the 18th and 19th centuries.
