Northern californias coastline home
High Resolution JPEG Picture of Northern California's coastline is home to a most magical being: the mighty Sequoia Sempervirens, giant sequoias, Redwoods. They are among the most solemn, tranquil, and peaceful of the forest beings. Living and growing for many hundreds of years, quietly becoming Sentries of the Pacific. Watching as the world changes evermore. Grandfather trees protect young saplings, saplings become grandfathers, and the cycle continues for hundreds of years to form old growth, ancient, forests. As long as we peoples allow them their peace, they will continue evermore to build forest communities, to support whole ecosystems, to provide the very air we breathe. We can support these earnest woodland ents in many ways. Conservation and environmental protection agencies (such as Save the Redwoods League, California Native Plant Society, Sierra Club, and many more) are fighting for these trees' lives and all the critters connected to their existing, including humanity. Conservation of our planet's forests is quite a necessity for all lives to have future generations. Perhaps hug a tree today! Perhaps grow one for tomorrow's tomorrow. You can make a difference.
