Durham cathedral renowned masterpiece
High Resolution JPEG Picture of Durham Cathedral is renowned as a masterpiece of Romanesque (or Norman) architecture. It was begun in 1093 and largely completed within 40 years. Together with its neighbour Durham Castle, the cathedral is now a World Heritage Site. This view towards Framwellgate Bridge, one of the city's famous medieval crossings was taken late on a winters afternoon with the buildings bathed in the warm glow from a low winter sun. Intentional HDR merged image with a ProPhoto RGB profile for maximum color fidelity and gamut.
