Socca round flat thin
High Resolution JPEG Picture of Socca, is a round flat, thin cake made with chickpea flour and olive oil and usually baked in a wood-fire oven in a large metal pan, up to a metre in diameter. It is a speciality of Nice and other parts of the Provence region and is a street food. It is eaten with the fingers with salt and pepper seasoning whilst hot. In some parts of the region, particularly around Toulon in the Var district it is known as La Cade. In Italy something similar is called Farinata, or Panelle.
